Stop managing your business.
Start leading it.

Most small business owners aren't running their business — their business is running them

You started your business to have freedom. Instead, you're drowning in emails, chasing tasks, and holding everything together with willpower alone. There's no system. There's no backup. If you stop — everything stops.

That's not a you problem. That's an operations problem. And operations is exactly what I do.

I'm Vera Salazar — Fractional Executive Officer and Army Veteran. For 16 years, I served in roles where systems weren't optional and nothing could drop. As a traditional guardsman in the Nevada Army National Guard, I learned to build operations that perform under pressure. In the federal government, I learned to document, systematize, and sustain. Now I bring that same discipline to small businesses that are ready to scale — but can't, because the owner is still doing everything.

As your Fractional XO, I step into your operation and make it run without you in every seat. I clean up the chaos, build the processes that make delegation possible, and integrate automation so the repetitive work stops stealing your time. You get clarity. You get leverage. You get to lead.

My Story

For 16 years, I was a part of a team who made sure missions happened.

In the Army, that role has a name: Executive Officer. The XO doesn't lead from the front — they run the entire operation behind it. Logistics, systems, people, process. Every moving part accounted for. Nothing dropped. Mission executed.

I did that as a traditional guardsman in the Nevada Army National Guard and as a full-time federal employee in Carson City, Nevada for over a decade. Carson City isn't a major metro — it's a community of small businesses, independent operators, and founders who are building something real without a corporate safety net. I know this landscape. I've worked in it. And I've watched too many good business owners burn out because they never had anyone in their corner running the operation.

Small business owners don't have an XO. They have themselves — wearing every hat, handling every task, answering every email. Their business is running them instead of the other way around.

That's where I come in.

As your Fractional Executive Officer, I step into your operation and do what XOs do: assess, systematize, and execute. I clean up the chaos, build the processes that make delegation possible, and integrate automation so the repetitive work stops stealing your time. You get to lead your business instead of managing its survival.

I'm self-taught, I learn fast, and I figure things out. That's not a disclaimer — it's the same trait that got me through 16 years of military and federal service. I'm not here to sell you a package and disappear. I'm here to be the operational backbone your business has been missing.

The table has various objects including a clear drinking glass, a red notebook, a smartphone, a pen holder with colored pens, a small sculpture, and a stack of black camera lens filters or similar objects. There is soft, possibly natural or ambient lighting illuminating the scene.
